What To Bring

 

All Summer Day-Timer Program

Arrival/Departure: Arrive between 7:30-9:30am and be picked up between 4:00-6:00pm. Program includes lunch, snacks, and breakfast is available to those who arrive before 8:00am.

What to bring: Casual clothes, swimsuit and towel, rainwear, and a Bible that can be left at Bethel during the week.

 

Day Camp 2008 ( July 7-11 )

Arrival/Departure: Day Campers should be dropped off daily by 9:00am at the McQuilkin Dining Hall if they are not using the Bethel shuttle that will be leaving Columbia every morning (call for pick-up and drop-off details.) Pick up is at 4:00pm, at which time the Bethel shuttle will departs for Columbia.

What to bring: Day Campers should wear play clothes and athletic shoes. We suggest bringing a back-pack containing: Bible, swim suit, towel, sunscreen, rain-wear, and a change of clothes. [If choosing the optional Thursday sleep-over, bring a sleeping bag/bedding, pillow, flashlight, and toiletries.]

 

Overnight Residential Camp (all other weeks)

Arrival/Departure: Campers should arrive Sunday evening from 6:00-6:15pm. Please do not arrive earlier than 6:00pm, and note that no dinner will be served on Sunday evening so please feed the campers prior to dropping them off. Parents should arrive for pick-up and Bethel Revue, a program where campers and staff review their special week, at 9:20am Saturday. Departure at 10:00am. Program includes all meals, canteen, and a t-shirt.

What to bring: Campers should bring a Bible, small notebook, sleeping bag/bedding, pillow, towels, toiletries, recreational clothing, tennis shoes, water shoes, rainwear, one piece swimsuit, bug spray, sunscreen, and a flashlight. If playing Paintball, please bring jeans and long-sleeved shirt, and if going on a Canoe Trip bring swim shoes. Please turn all medications in to the office clearly labeled with the campers name (Bethel staff will dispense as necessary). All prescription medication must be in its original container.

 
What not to bring:

Radios, MP3/CD/tape players, cell phones, beepers, TV’s, magazines, cash, clothing with vulgar or offensive graphics, tobacco, alcohol, drugs, expensive watches or jewelry, etc.

 

Dress Code and Conduct:

As a private organization, Bethel expects a high standard of conduct and dress. Please, no spaghetti straps, bare mid-riffs, or improper slogans. Shorts should be modest (not too tight, too high, or too low), and bathing suits should be one piece and modest. Bethel reserves the right to ask campers to change improper clothing, and to dismiss anyone for misconduct (no refund will be made). Tobacco, drugs, alcohol, profanity, disrespect, and questionable remarks and gestures will not be tolerated.
