Below are some of the Summer
Positions available at Bethel Christian Camp. Not all the positions listed below are
being sought for Summer 2008, and some may be combined.
This is a summer-long
commitment.
Here at Bethel there are many
positions that need to be filled in order for the summer to run
properly. Just as the body has many parts, so summer camp has many
roles. What is most important is a willingness to do all work as
unto the Lord. Our goal here at Bethel is to have a unified staff
that build each other up and encourage each other as we seek to follow
Christ and live in Him.
We believe that each summer we are
blessed to be able to minister to the children God sends to this camp.
Jesus said "Whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name
welcomes me." What a tremendous opportunity and blessing we are
given each summer. If you feel God calling you to serve and love
children this summer then please fill out an application and send it in
ASAP.
I look forward to hearing from each
of you.
Sincerely, Tom O'Brien

Financial
Information |
|
|
Working at Bethel is a ministry, not a summer
job, and we understand that by choosing to work at camp you are
making a financial sacrifice. We
desire to pay you as well as we can. We will also offer you
opportunities to raise additional funds in order to help you
earn more during the summer
season. By agreeing to work at Bethel you will also be agreeing
to send out Personal Support Letters to help raise the
funds needed to pay your salary. As
you know, we scholarship many children and often can barely make
payroll, or in some cases we have had to
pull money from our credit line in order to cover
payroll. With God's blessing and hard
work and cooperation from our summer staff we are
hoping that you will be able to raise most of your own
support by the time summer rolls around. Please consider your
time at Bethel as Short Term
Missionary work, because that is what it really is. Just as you
would have to raise funds in order to serve in another county,
we're asking
you to raise what it would take to employ you this summer. At
the time of signing your contract we will contract with you the
amount you will make per week.
The base salaries for
Summer 2008 are as follows:
Sr. Counselor - $180.00 per week (7 paid weeks)
Jr. Counselor - $90.00 per week (7 paid weeks)
LIT Kitchen/Maintenance - $60.00 per week (8 paid weeks)
Your ability to earn more will be determined by
(1) Years worked at Bethel (2) Your education level/experience
(3) Level of participation and success
in fund-raising.
An explanation of .(3) Participation and success
in fund-raising. is as follows:
Each staff member will be responsible to send
out Personal Support Letters that we will provide.
If you are contracted to be paid $100 per week and you
raise $75.00 per week personal support, your salary would be
$100 per week If you are
contracted to be paid $100 per week and you raise $110.00 per
week personal support, your salary would be $110.00 per week.
**This
summer there will be no pay for Staff Training (June 4 - 13)
except in the case of the Daytimer Program, the LIT’s, and their
supervisors since they will be working during part of this time.
For the rest of the staff this is simply a time of training in
order to better equip you for your summer ministry here at
Bethel Christian Camp. The payroll schedule for the summer is as
follows:
| Payroll Time Period |
Day Paid |
| June 8 - June 13 |
June 21
(Head of Maintence,
Cook, Assistant Cook, Daytimer Program, and LIT’s only) |
| June 15 - June 28 |
July 5 |
| June 29 - July 12 |
July 19 |
| July 13 - July 26 |
Aug 2 |
| July 27 - Aug 3 |

(the last pay
period will be mailed to you.) |
