This year we will again
be traveling to Panthertown Valley, in the Nantahala National
Forest, on the eastern continental divide in North Carolina's Blue
Ridge Mountains. Known as the "Yosemite of the East", this beautiful
area contains deep gorges, granite rock domes and cliffs, tranquil
creeks, and spectacular waterfalls, all within short hikes of one
another. In addition, Panthertown is home to deer, fox,
squirrel, raccoon, skunk, barred owl, grouse, wild turkey, coyote,
black bear, and bobcat.
During the day we will explore the many sights
and activities that this wonderful area has to offer. In the
evening we will return to our base-camp for dinner and a time of
prayer, bible study, sharing, and praise.

The
Teen Adventure Trip is not for everyone. This trip is,at times, strenuous.
Participants should be in good shape, and willing to
spend the week camping in the woods without the comforts of home
(running water, bathrooms, etc).
Trip Leadership:
All trips will be lead by Tom
O'Brien along with several Bethel Staff. This will be
Tom's fifth summer as a guide for the Teen Adventure
Program. He enjoys backpacking and camping, and is
enthusiastic about taking young men and women into the
wilderness so they can see and live in the beauty of God's
amazing creation. Tom is a Red Cross certified
Lifeguard Instructor, is trained in Ropes Course
Facilitation and Safety, and is certified as a
Wilderness
First Responder
with additional certifications in Adult, Child, and Infant
CPR/AED, Emergency Oxygen Administration, and Emergency
First Aid.
